These docs describe the reference manufacturing API at sinter.systems. A sinter.ac subscription covers the project-planning workspace; manufacturing API access is separate.

Service specification

Sinter’s self-service quoting service produces FDM plastic parts. Use the accepted quote for your selected material, quantity, manufacturing requirements and promised ship date.

Materials and files

ItemSpecification
MaterialsPLA+, PLA-CF, PETG, PETG-CF, ASA, ASA-CF, PC, PC-CF, TPU, TPU-CF, Nylon, Nylon-CF, PPA-CF and PPS-CF, subject to current availability. Custom materials and custom colors require an issued engineering quote.
Material gradesMaterial family names do not specify a certified grade. If an exact manufacturer, grade or datasheet is required, have Sinter confirm it in your quote before paying.
FilesSTEP, STL, OBJ and 3MF. Confirm units and displayed dimensions; STL and OBJ do not reliably declare units.
Build sizeUp to 380 × 380 × 335 mm subject to placement and bed corner cut-outs. Large square footprints may not fit. Use the upload analysis; some oversized parts require a split plan.
Print settingsDefault settings and permitted changes are listed in the live material catalog. Settings and orientation affect appearance and mechanical behavior.

Quality and inspection expectations

FDM parts have visible layer lines, seams and possible support-contact marks. Color can vary between batches. A dimensional tolerance applies only when stated in your accepted quote.

Before payment, tell Sinter which dimensions, mating surfaces or cosmetic faces are critical. Request dimensional inspection or a report if needed; Sinter must confirm its availability and scope in the quote. Automated geometry checks are not a dimensional inspection of the finished part.

Manufacturability findings identify measured risks within the stated analysis coverage. Unresolved feasibility holds prevent payment. Passing the automated checks does not certify fit, strength, temperature resistance or suitability for your application.

Timing and delivery

Default is the scheduled production time plus any material lead time. PLA+ and PETG in black or white ship without material lead time; other materials and colours add one day. It is not a promise of one-day delivery. Economy ships seven calendar days after the quoted Default date. Ship dates are business days (Monday to Friday, Pacific time); parts ready after 6 PM ship the next business day.

The ship date is when parts leave Sinter. Courier or carrier arrival estimates are separate. Availability is checked before payment; a changed date requires your confirmation. Some planning reviews leave the ship date pending until Sinter approves the plan. Engineering reviews are completed the same business day for requests sent by 6 PM Pacific, otherwise the next business day.

Changes and problems

Paid orders are committed: they can't be cancelled online. If Sinter can't fulfill an order or declines it, the payment is refunded in full. For a manufacturing defect, contact [email protected] within seven days of delivery with your order ID and photos. Confirmed defects receive a reprint or refund under the Terms.

An order that ships more than one full business day after its ship-by date receives a credit of 10% of the parts price plus corresponding tax. Delivery charges are excluded; carrier delays after on-time shipment do not trigger this credit.
